Flooring bases

Many people are getting their bases floored, including my roommate twice. Please! someone get on this and banned some one.

Yeah it's becoming an issue, DJ talked about disabled the /remove plugin for this reason.

Flooring of bases is an issue on all servers.  Doesn't matter on the amount of admining being done, the time spent going through logs, or the anticheats installed or updated.

With this being a modded server, with a lot of plugins, it is an attraction to people looking to exploit, glitch, and hack.  It's doesn't help that this game is still in development and has many flaws, and simple tweaks that make the game "broken" in a sense for any builder.  There is no fix.

If you are a raider, and talk shit, then rust is the game for you and admining - is probably a position you should not hold. Just saying. So this is no way a nomination for anyone that is currently playing on this server to be another admin.

You are always going to get a few that ruin it for everyone else.

Honestly the /remove plugin needs to be altered to not give you back material if you /remove something (if possible). This would be a deterent to keep people from just flooring bases out of greed.

I'm not saying it would completely stop the issue, but it's a start.

I hear ya.  The problem is not the tool.  The problem is with people using it to harm others.  That being said, Rust is a typical sandbox game.  You have people who are cool and you have the shit bags of society who just want to piss in everyone's Wheaties.   So what do you do?  Do you screw all the people who are good to protect everyone from the bad?  Well isn't that awesome…  A few bad apples ruin it for the whole barrel.  Well fuck that.  I'd rather us take a more personal approach.  Thor provides us with a server to play on.  He says "it's as much ours as his."  So let's all work together to enforce the griefing rules.  If you see someone leveling a home, don't stand by, say something.  Get involved.  Call it the neighborhood watch program for the server, if you will.  It is, after all, up to us to create the kind of server people like to play on.

We would be doing that, but unfortunately we dont know who is doing it and they appear to be raiding solo and just /remove-ing bases.

So here's the prob... Unless we are all on, all the time, scanning and checking everyone, like some crazy big brother action. There really isn't anything we can do to catch every occurance. At best, we might catch a few... a few! And out of those you can expect that half of them didn't know that flooring was a no no. The other half are lying or don't give a rip. Some will be new players. Some will be regulars that should know better. Do we ban them all? Zero tolerance? Or do we educate and inform? We can keep an eye out for these things, but it will take ALL of us, working together, to put this issue to rest.

In any event, I am not a fan of regulation for the purpose of ultimate security.

The first and best line of action with any decent server is to lead by example. If you have somebody in your crew that is flooring bases, teaming with a group that floors bases, or even know of a group/person flooring bases you need to speak up.

It's no different than the 911 system to report a fire or crime. Cops/Fireman don't just patrol, they count on citizens to do the majority of the leg work. We all must do our part to keep rules enforce, suggest things that on the forums to the admins, and keep them appraised.

Every single one us have a lot more time combined than the admins, and that is how it should be. We can do it.
